GURGAON: Faridabad police have arrested a 42-year-old man, an autorickshaw driver for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter over several days, officials said on Friday.The victim, a Class 7 student, had been living with her father after her mother left the family, reportedly because of his alcohol addiction. Police said the suspect allegedly targeted his eldest daughter after returning home intoxicated almost every night.
In pain and distressed, she alerted an elderly neighbour, who then took her to a doctor.The doctor revealed her medical condition and the crime she had endured. The elderly neighbour asked the victim what had happened and she revealed her ordeal.The police were then informed.An FIR has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for aggravated penetrative sexual assault and sexual harassment in Bhupani police station.The accused was sent to judicial custody. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
