The Chandigarh Literary Society (CLS) has announced that the 13th edition of its annual literary festival — CLF Literati 2025 — will be held from November 21 to 23 at the scenic Lake Club, Chandigarh.

Unveiling the festival’s poster on Thursday, Dr Sumita Misra, IAS, founder-chairperson of CLS and festival director, said this year’s theme, “Worlds Within Words,” will explore the power of storytelling through 12 sessions featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and book conversations around noteworthy new titles.

“This year’s festival will host an impressive line-up of acclaimed authors from across India, alongside distinguished writers from the United States and Australia, making CLF Literati 2025 a truly global celebration of ideas, stories, and imagination,” Dr Misra said.

Beyond the literary sessions, the three-day event promises an immersive cultural experience with poetry recitations, storytelling workshops for young adults, and an art exhibition featuring works inspired by the festival’s theme. A cultural evening on the opening night, book signings, sales stalls, and interactive art corners with hand and face painting will add colour to the festivities.

CLS has also partnered with Nritya Praangan, the Bhavan Dancing Courtyard, for a special Bharatnatyam performance entitled “Swarit Mudrayen” by disciples of Dr Sucheta Bhide-Chapekar. The performance will be held at Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Sector 27, on November 22.

In a major addition this year, Dr Misra announced the institution of the CLF Literati Book Awards (First Edition) to honour excellence in English and Hindi literature. The awards will recognise works in three categories — English fiction, English non-fiction, and Hindi fiction/non-fiction — published between January 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025.

“The awards have received an enthusiastic response from authors and publishers from across the country. The longlist will be announced soon,” she said.
