Bihar Danapur Election Result 2025 Live: BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav pulls ahead, extends lead over RJD’s Rit Lal Roy after 23 rounds
In a tight contest for Danapur, BJP’s Ram Kripal Yadav has taken a lead of 4,542 votes over RJD’s Rit Lal Roy after seventeen rounds of counting. This closely watched seat in Patna district has a history of fluctuating political loyalties. The current results suggest a potential shift in voter preference as the election enters its final stages.

NEW DELHI: After twenty three rounds of counting in Danapur, BJP candidate Ram Kripal Yadav has strengthened his position with 93,599 votes, extending his lead to 18018 votes over RJD’s Rit Lal Roy, who has secured 75,581 votes so far. Independent candidate Shailesh K.R. Dhiraj remains far behind with 2505 votes, trailing the frontrunner by 91094 votes as the contest moves deeper into the counting process.

Danapur remains one of the closely watched seats in Patna district. The constituency has a mixed urban–rural voter base and has witnessed frequent shifts in political preference over the past three decades.54,724

Bihar Exit Polls 2025: Poll of Polls Show NDA Poised For Majority, MGB Trails, No Impact of JSP

The Election Commission reported more than 68 per cent turnout across 122 constituencies that went to polls in the second phase.Danapur has seen alternating political trends over the years. In the 2020 election, the constituency had 3,53,534 electors and 1,85,563 valid votes. Rit Lal Ray of the RJD won with 89,895 votes. BJP’s Asha Devi finished second with 73,971 votes, losing by 15,924.

MGB friendly fights

In 2015, Danapur had 3,21,439 electors and 1,66,986 valid votes. Asha Devi of the BJP won with 72,192 votes. Raj Kishor Yadav of the RJD secured 66,983 votes and lost by 5,209.In 2010, the constituency had 2,55,418 electors and 1,25,050 valid votes. Asha Devi won again on a BJP ticket with 59,425 votes. Independent candidate Rit Lal Ray finished second with 41,506 votes, trailing by 17,919.

Nitish's flip flop

Going further back, in the 1990 election, Danapur had 1,75,844 electors and 1,09,584 valid votes. Vijender Rai of the Janata Dal won with 56,479 votes. BJP’s Abhay Kumar Singh came second with 33,524 votes, losing by 22,955.Also check real-time updates on Bihar Assembly Election Result 2025
