The conversation begins with a simple greeting, followed by his father mentioning that he had been watching the match from the start. What stood out was the light-hearted yet immediate shift from admiration to analysis of his game.
Suryavanshi’s father offered a piece of technical advice, telling his son, “Had you played that shot a bit higher over the covers, it could’ve been a six.”Suryavanshi responded with a smile, saying, “Couldn’t connect properly, the ball was slower.”His father then congratulated him for the innings, after which Suryavanshi explained the contrasting ways his parents react to his performances.“Dad is not easily impressed. Even if I had scored 200 today, he would still feel like I could have scored more,” he said.He added that his mother responds differently, saying, “Even if I score a 100 or 0, she is always happy and tells me to keep doing well.”Despite his 32-ball century and a stunning 144 off 42 balls in an an innings featuring 15 sixes and 11 fours, Suryavanshi spoke with restraint about his own role.Watch the video here“I don’t try to do anything extraordinary.
