Referring to the hoisting of “Dharma Dhwaja” at Ram Temple in Ayodhya as the “symbol of Sanatan pride”, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called on priests and saints to speak out against “religious conversion, love jihad, and drug abuse” at every religious event. He also warned that “foreign forces” might again make attempts to strike through “religious conversion” and narcotics.

Speaking at an event for the consecration of an idol in Haryana’s Jhajjar, the BJP leader said, “Apne dekha hoga Ayodhya ke Bhagwan Ram ke bhavya mandir mein ek bhagwa Dharma Dhwaja kaise lehra rahi hai… Sanatan ke gaurav ka pratik ban gayi hai…Sandesh de raha hai vishwa ko ki satya aur dharma ka marg hamesha uncha rehta hai, isko koi jhuka nahi sakta hai (You must have seen how in Ayodhya’s Ram Temple a saffron Dharma Dhwaja was unfurled. It is the symbol of pride of Sanatan Dharma and is giving the message to the entire world that the path of truth and Dharma always remains on the top and no one can defeat that)… This occasion came after 500 years.”

It all started with the Supreme Court order in 2019, the CM said, referring to the apex court’s order that paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple at the disputed site of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

For the first time, any Prime Minister had gone to Ayodhya to launch the start of the construction of the temple, he added.

Stating that at present there is a “golden era” in the country, the CM asserted that whenever “there is a golden era… one has to be alert from foreign attack”.

Making an appeal to saints especially of “Nath Sampradaya”, to “raise voice against religious conversion, love jihad and drug abuse at their every religious event”, Adityanath warned the saints to be alert on two fronts — one on religious conversion and secondly on drug abuse). “We have to save our youths from drugs. We have to save our present generation, we have to save society,” he said.

“Humein batna nahi hai, batenge to katenge. Jaati ke naam par nahi batna hai, shetra, bhasha ke naam par nahi batna nahi (We should not get divided, be it in the name of caste, region or language because if we are divided then we would be suffer),” the CM said.
