IndiGo’s parent company InterGlobe Aviation Limited faces a massive ₹458.26 crore GST penalty order from the central authorities, it informed the BSE on Tuesday calling the order “erroneous”.
InterGlobe Aviation said that it “ strongly believes that the order passed by the GST department is erroneous and not in accordance with law, backed by advice from external tax advisors. Accordingly, the Company will contest the same and shall take appropriate legal remedies against the aforesaid order.”
The sum includes the GST demand, along with interest and penalty on compensation received from foreign supplier and denial of Input Tax credit. The company has faced multiple such GST orders and has also appealed in a similar matter for FY 2017-18
