GHAZIABAD: Ghaziabad police lodged an FIR against Pinky Chaudhary (49) alias Bhupendra Chaudhary of the Hindu Raksha Dal (HRD) and 45 members of the outfit for allegedly distributing swords and other weapons to the public in the Shalimar Garden area on Monday.Police said they received information about the distribution of swords and more than 50 police officers from Shalimar Garden and Sahibabad reached the spot along with two ACPs.

A complaint was made by sub-inspector Pradeep Kumar.As per the FIR, today police learnt through social media after receiving footage that Pinky Chaudhary, along with associates Harsh Chaudhary, Annu, Shyam Yadav, Amit Singh, Mohit Kumar, Arun Jain, Ujala Singh, Amit Kumar, Mahendra Pradhan, Rampal, Mohit, Radheshyam, Amit Prajapati, Shravan Chandel, Kapil and 25-30 unknown persons, was distributing swords at the Hindu Raksha Dal office at 150 Foota Buddha Bazar Road in Shalimar Garden Extension-02.Police said the associates held swords in their hands, aggressively demonstrated and raised slogans, creating a chaotic atmosphere.Nimish Patil, DCP of Trans-Hindon, said people travelling on the road and those sitting in vehicles fled in fear, leaving their vehicles, while nearby residents hid in their homes. He said the demonstration blocked the road, and elderly people, children and ambulances got stuck, disrupting public peace.“To maintain public peace and law and order, police force SHO Shalimar Garden with force, and SHO Sahibabad with force, and SHO Tila Mod with force and SHO Link Road with force and QRT Trans Hindon Zone and senior officers arrived at the spot. Seeing the cops, the accused tried to escape from the spot while police arrested ten people in the matter but Pinky and other people fled from the spot. Police recovered swords and other weapons in huge quantities from the place,” he said.The arrested persons were identified as Kapil Kumar (38), Shayam Yadav (52), Arun Jain (43), Ram Pal (43), Amit Singh (36), Amit Kumar (28), Devendra Baghel (25), Ujala Singh (59), Amit Arora (52) and Mohit Kumar (30).The DCP said an FIR was registered against 16 named people, including Pinky, and 30 unknown persons under sections 191 (2) (rioting), 191 (3) (rioting armed with deadly weapon), 127 (wrongful confinement) of BNS and section 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1932 at Shalimar Garden police station.Pinky Chaudhary said that what happened in Bangladesh can also happen in India. Hindus will have to become strong themselves for their own security. To strengthen Hindus, their organization is distributing swords. On Sunday, the organization distributed more than 250 swords. The govt needs to give arm licenses to every Hindu person but they are not doing so.Police said Pinky had more than 26 cases against him at several police stations in Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar and Delhi. In 2006, the first FIR was filed against him at Sahibabad police station for vandalising the AAP office.In 2021, he was arrested for alleged communal sloganeering at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In Aug 2024, Tomar and an accomplice Badal Singh were arrested in Ghaziabad for allegedly attacking and damaging shanties of people who they accused of being Bangladeshi illegals. On April 18 this year, members of his outfit blackened with spray paint a portrait of Bahadur Shah Zafar, the last Mughal emperor, at Ghaziabad railway station, believing it to be of Aurangzeb. Railway police lodged an FIR against unknown persons in the matter.Police tried to impose the Goonda Act on Pinky in October 2023, but the decision was rolled back after HRD members staged a protest against the administration and police.
