Nagpur NMC Election Result 2026, Nagpur Municipal Corporation Election Results 2026 LIVE Updates: The vote counting for the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) elections began at 10 am today. The election saw a voter turnout of 51 per cent on Thursday, January 15. The results are likely to be declared on January 16, Friday. Among those who exercised their right to franchise during the day were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union minister Nitin Gadkari and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.

Over 24.8 lakh voters, 151 seats at stake:A total of 24,83,112 electors were eligible to vote, including 12,26,690 men and 12,56,166 women. There are 151 seats in 38 wards of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The BJP is contesting on 143 seats and its ally Shiv Sena on eight seats. The Congress is contesting independently on 151 seats. In the 2017 NMC polls, the BJP won 108 out of the 151 seats, Congress 28, BSP 10, (undivided) Shiv Sena two and (undivided) NCP one.

EVM develops snags: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation elections on Thursday faced a few hurdles when the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) developed snags in some wards. This issue was also reported from parts of Amravati, Shirgaon, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Kanya Vidyalaya), Akola (Pink Polling Center), and Dhule, an official told PTI. The BJP candidate for Nagpur civic polls, Bhushan Shingne, was attacked by a group of people and left injured on the eve of the election, police said on Thursday. Shingne, a former corporator, is the BJP candidate from Ward No. 11 of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).
