Amrit Bharat Express launch: PM Modi flags off 5 new trains – check routes

Amrit Bharat Express trains launch: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has flagged off five new Amrit Bharat trains on Sunday, January 18. The Amrit Bharat Express is a modern LHB rake train equipped with advanced push–pull technology, offering improved speed, smoother operations and enhanced passenger comfort.This non-AC train is provided with modern passenger amenities, including ergonomically designed berths, modular toilets, LED lighting, CCTV surveillance and mobile charging facilities.

PM Modi in Assam

During his visit to Assam’s Kaliabor, the Prime Minister flagged off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains. These trains will run on:

  • Guwahati (Kamakhya)-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express

The Guwahati (Kamakhya)-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express will serve districts including Kamrup, Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar in Assam, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Saran, Begusarai and Vaishali in Bihar, Ballia, Ghazipur, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Firozabad and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, and Jhajjar and Rohtak in Haryana.

  • Dibrugarh-Lucknow (Gomti Nagar) Amrit Bharat Express

This train service will benefit several districts, including Dimapur in Nagaland, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Karbi Anglong, Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon, Kamrup Metropolitan, Kamrup, Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar in Assam, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Begusarai, Vaishali, Saran and Siwan in Bihar, and Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Gonda, Ayodhya, Barabanki and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.

PM Modi in West Bengal

Later in the day, during his visit to West Bengal, the Prime Minister also flagged off three Amrit Bharat Express trains. These are:

  • Kolkata (Howrah) – Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express

The service will benefit districts of Howrah, Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman and Hooghly in West Bengal, Kaimur (Bhabua), Rohtas, Aurangabad, Gaya and Patna in Bihar, Koderma, Giridih and Dhanbad in Jharkhand, Chandauli, Varanasi, Jaunpur, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Amethi, Bareilly, Moradabad, Ghaziabad and Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, and East Delhi in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

  • Kolkata (Sealdah) – Banaras Amrit Bharat Express

The train will benefit districts of Kolkata, Purba Bardhaman and Paschim Bardhaman in West Bengal, Deoghar in Jharkhand, Patna in Bihar, and Chandauli and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Improved connectivity across these districts will ease access to major cities, administrative centres, healthcare facilities and educational institutions.

  • Kolkata (Santragachi) – Tambaram Amrit Bharat Express

The train will benefit districts of Howrah and Paschim Medinipur in West Bengal, Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khordha and Ganjam in Odisha, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur, Prakasam and SPSR Nellore in Andhra Pradesh, and Chennai and Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
