A woman government primary school teacher allegedly died by suicide inside the office of the school principal in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki on Saturday.
According to information available, several other teachers were present on the school premises at the time the incident occurred. The matter came to light when a student went into the principal’s room and found the body of the teacher.

The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and the report is awaited. No suicide note has been found, a police officer said.
Naveen Pathak, Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Barabanki, said that an inquiry would be initiated into the incident to ascertain the circumstances leading to the teacher’s death. He added that preliminary information suggested that the deceased was undergoing psychiatric treatment.
According to the police, the teacher arrived at the school on Saturday morning as usual. While other staff members, including teachers, were sitting in the school field, she went inside the school building. When she did not return for a long time, a student was sent inside to check on her. The student later discovered her body inside the principal’s room.
The deceased is survived by her husband, who is also a teacher, and their two children.
Arpit Vijayvargiya, Superintendent of Police, Barabanki, said no FIR has been registered in connection with the incident so far, as no formal complaint has been received by the police.
