Russia has launched a barrage of drones and missiles on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and the Dnipro district early on Tuesday, injuring one person and disrupting the power and water supply, the city mayor Vitaliy Klychko confirmed through his Telegram channel.Urging the residents to stay under cover, the mayor said that the power supply has been disrupted due to the strikes at the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Updating on the situation, the mayor wrote, “One injured in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. The team has left. There are still calls for medics.”

Meanwhile, head of the Kyiv city military administration, Tymur Tkachenko, shared the updates on damages in the warehouses and other properties with multiple fires breaking out in the Dnipro district.On his Telegram channel, Tkachenko wrote, “In the Dnipro district, non-residential buildings were damaged. Cars are burning in another location. In the Dnipro district, a fire broke out in a warehouse.”Other images of strike-lit skies in Kyiv has alse been circulating online, showing the scale of strikes.Earlier to this, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned citizens to stay vigilant about the preparations of Russia to strike Ukraine.Sharing an update late on Monday local time, he wrote, “In the coming days, we must remain extremely vigilant—Russia has prepared for a massive strike and is waiting for the moment to carry it out. Please pay close attention to air raid alerts. Every region must be ready to respond quickly and support our people.”

Kyiv also witnessed strikes overnight on Monday, as Russian attacks hit energy infrastructure facilities, cutting off power supplies in five regions. The continued bombardment has left residents across multiple parts of the country without electricity amid freezing winter temperatures.
