Oscars 2026 nominations announcement LIVE Updates: The nominations for the 97th Academy Awards was announced on Thursday. While Indian audience were on the edge of their seats as Homebound had made it to the top 15 of the Oscars shortlist, the Neeraj Ghaywan film couldn’t make it to the nominations list. Instead, the films nominated in Best International Feature Film were The Secret Agent (Brazil), It Was Just an Accident (France), Sentimental Value (Norway), Sirât (Spain) and The Voice of Hind Rajab (Tunisia).

Dharma Productions’ Homebound, starring Vishal Jethwa and Ishaan Khatter, was India’s official submission to the Oscars this year. If Homebound had succeeded to bag a nomination, it would have been the first film since Aamir Khan’s Lagaan that made it to the Best International Feature Film category, which was previously known as Best Foreign Language Film.
