JABALPUR: A 16-year-old girl visiting a temple with her male friend on a bike was waylaid by eight people, including a minor boy, who forced her on a scooter and took her to a nearby forest where three of them raped her in Madhya Pradesh’s Narsinghpur district. They video recorded their act and warned the survivor against revealing the sexual assault.The girl kept quiet about the Dec 29 sexual assault till the accused posted the video on social media. She confided in her relatives and filed an FIR a month later, on Jan 29, prompting police to arrest the seven-adult accused, who have been remanded in judicial custody.The minor has been sent to juvenile home, Mungwani police station in-charge Anil Tiwari said.The survivor in her complaint said the accused had forced her male friend follow them to the forest.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
