The Bads of Bollywood Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: The Ba***ds of Bollywood, produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, marks the directorial debut of their elder son Aryan Khan. Aryan, 27, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, University of Southern California. However, the star kid has decided not to follow in his father’s footsteps and become an actor. The only time he’s appeared on the big screen is as a child actor, playing Shah Rukh’s younger self, in Karan Johar’s 2001 blockbuster family drama Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He also voiced the character of Simba in Disney’s recent live-action adaptation of The Lion King, with Shah Rukh lending his voice to Mufasa and his younger brother AbRam Khan voicing a younger Mufasa.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood, as the name suggests, is set in the Hindi film industry. It’s a hilarious, satirical take on the inner workings of Bollywood. As the trailer hints, it shows the two prevalent sides to those who rule Bollywood — those born at a hero’s home (read: nepo babies like Aryan himself) and those born a hero (read: Shah Rukh Khan!). The latter is represented by actor Lakshya, who broke through last year with his performance in Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt’s extremely violent thriller Kill. He reunites with his Kill co-star Raghav Juyal, who plays his best friend in the show. Anya Singh, best known for her appearances in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan and Stree 2, plays his talent manager. The nepo baby side is represented by Sahher Bambba, best known for her role in ZEE5 period drama The Empire. She plays the daughter of one of the top stars of the country, essayed by Bobby Deol. This marks Bobby’s reunion with Red Chillies Entertainment after Love Hostel and Class of ’89.
Mona Singh plays Lakshya’s mother, while other actors who can be spotted in the show include Manoj Pahwa, Gautami Kapoor, Manish Chaudhari, and Rajat Bedi, best known for playing the villain Raj in Rakesh Roshan’s 2003 hit sci-fi drama Koi… Mil Gaya.
The Ba***ds of Bollywood is also populated by celebrity cameos, including filmmakers Karan Johar and SS Rajamouli, singer Badshah, and actors Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, Disha Patani, and Shah Rukh himself, along with his longtime manager Pooja Dadlani.
