Summit, NJ — Escape the winter chill and enter a world of wonder at Reeves Reed Arboretum’s 2023 first art exhibition, Imaginature: Children’s Book Art. The exhibition presents illustrations, paintings and woodcuts by artists Margaret Piot and Gisele Potter. The show will run from his Tuesday, February 7th through his Sunday, May 14th and will consist of book art, editorial illustrations and fine art work.
Peot works and lives in New York City. She writes and illustrates fiction and non-fiction books for children and how-to books for adults. Her recent publications for young children include The Science of Light: Things That Shine, Flash and Glow, a basic science book, and At Night, a picture book about nocturnal animals and babies. there is. She continues her practice in a woodcut engraving and printmaking studio, informed by the plants and animals she grew up in rural Ohio and the plants and animals she encounters in her current urban setting. Peot also paints costume fabrics at Parsons-Meares LTD. Her costume projects have featured in numerous theater productions, including on Broadway. for the American Ballet Theater. Also for arenas and ice shows.
Potter grew up in a home that encouraged creativity and expression. During her childhood, she traveled and performed throughout the United States and Europe with her parents’ theater company, the Mystic Paper Beasts. Potter later went on to Lord She attended her School of Design on Island and produced work that became the book Lucy’s Eyes and Margaret’s Dragon: The Life of the Virgin Mary, published by Chronicle Books. Her work appears in The New Yorker, Upstate Her Diary, Her Autobiography, as well as Toni Her Morrison, Mary Her Pope Her Osborne, Gertrude Her Stein. She currently lives in her Valley of Hudson with her husband and her children.
All works in this exhibit are for sale and the artist will donate 30% of all sales to the Reeves Reed Arboretum. There will be a reception for the artists on Saturday, February 11th from 2-3:30pm.

The Reeves-Reed Arboretum is a non-profit public garden located at 165 Hobart Ave., Summit. The grounds are free and open to the public daily from 9am to 4pm.
