During a promotional appearance for Son of Sardaar 2, Ajay Devgn, along with Mrunal Thakur, sat down for a chat with Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi on their YouTube channel. Responding to Archana’s question about the one thing he can eat for one whole year, the 56-year-old said, “I can eat anything as long as it is healthy. Jo pasand hai, usme se koi aisi dish nahi hai jo ek saal tak khaungabecause itna unhealthy aur woh sab hota hai…(If I have to eat what I like then I can’t sustain it for a year because those options are so unhealthy and all that…).”

On what he loves to eat, Devgn continued, “I love mutton, I love chhole bhature…South Indian bhi mujhe pasand hai…(I like South Indian food, too)”.

Adding, Mrunal also revealed that she loves to indulge in South Indian food. “There is a reason why mera ek pairr South mein rehta hai. I love South Indian khaana; I love rasam rice, chutney. Kabhi kabhi main chutneys ghar par bhi pack karke lekar aati hun…I love South Indian…”

Taking a cue from the actors’ candid confessions, let’s understand how everyday choices matter significantly when it comes to achieving your fitness goals.

Eating healthy really comes down to the choices we make every single day, said Kanikka Malhotra, consultant dietitian and diabetes educator.

“It’s not always easy, especially when tempting treats are all around us, but being mindful of what we eat helps us feel stronger, more energetic, and just better overall,” Malhotra said.

When we choose nutritious foods, we’re giving our bodies the fuel they truly need to keep going.

“It’s like investing in ourselves for the long run. Staying fit isn’t only about working out; it’s about making simple, thoughtful decisions at every meal and snack. Sometimes that means choosing a grilled meal over fried food or grabbing lemon water instead of a soda,” Malhotra said.

Those small choices add up and make a big difference. “At the end of the day, eating healthy is really about caring for yourself and making decisions that keep you energised and feeling your best,” added Malhotra.
