Nonprofit legal group offers to help low-income Central Alabama storm victims with everything from federal relief claims to contractor fraud during a series of free events in Montgomery and Selma .

Legal Services Alabama provides free help twice a week at two sites:
Selma
- When: Mondays and Wednesdays from 11am to 4pm
- Location: Selma LSA Office, 801 Alabama Ave., Suite 100
montgomery
- When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:00pm to 4:00pm
- Location: LSA Montgomery Office, 2567 Fairlane Drive, Suite 200
Other services at the clinic include housing, insurance issues, SNAP and public assistance. LSA’s free attorney services are generally available to anyone who falls under the federal poverty threshold of up to 125%.
The clinic will continue until at least February 15th and may be expanded as needed. They are supported by the LSA John Lewis Legal Fellowship Program.
Dallas and Autauga counties were some of the hardest hit by the January 12th tornado outbreak. It was the latest in a series of devastating storms to hit central Alabama. However, the LSA noted that Alabama injured in disasters in 2020 and 2021 may also be eligible for free legal aid.
