Border 2 Movie Review, Rating and Release Live Updates: The wait will finally be over for fans on Friday as Sunny Deol, Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Border 2 releases in theatres. The film is the sequel to J. P. Dutta’s 1997 blockbuster Border and is directed by Anurag Singh, who is known for helming films like Jugjugg Jeeyo, Kesari and more.
As per the film’s advance booking trends, Border 2 is doing well at the box office even before its release. According to Sacnilk, the film has minted Rs 6.86 crore in advance sales by selling 2,15,777 tickets across 14,378 shows on Day 1 across the country. The film is expected to cross Rs 10 crore in advance sales by midnight on Thursday.

The film’s advance booking is reportedly better than the recent hit Dhurandhar. The Ranveer Singh-starrer had raked in Rs 4 crore in advance bookings a day before its release, while Border 2 has already crossed Rs 6 crore. Now, it remains to be seen whether the film will cross the opening day collections of 2025’s two biggest hits — Dhurandhar’s Rs 28 crore and Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava at Rs 31 crore.
Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared that the film will be released on 4,800 screens. He wrote, “#Xclusiv… #Border2 screen count… ⭐️ #India: 4,800 screens Approx 17,000 shows per day.” He also shared the film’s runtime and certification details, writing, “‘BORDER 2’ RUN TIME… #Border2 certified ‘UA’ by #CBFC on 21 January 2026. Duration: 199.07 min:sec [3 hours, 19 min, 07 sec].”
