Chaos in cabin: Indigo flight delayed over 2 hours after rat spotted on plane at Kanpur airport

KANPUR: A Kanpur–Delhi flight was delayed by two hours and forty minutes due to the presence of a rat in a crew member’s cabin. All passengers were deboarded in search of the rat, and the flight took off once the rat was caught and removed.As per schedule, the Delhi–Kanpur Indigo flight landed at Chakeri Airport at 2.10 pm and was scheduled to depart at 2.50 pm.Around 172 passengers were on the flight when, just before takeoff, a crew member observed a rat running inside the cabin.He informed senior officials, and the flight was held. In view of passenger security, all passengers were deboarded and sent to the lounge. Thereafter, a search operation was commenced, involving ground crew and technical staff of the flight.After around two hours, the rat was caught and the crew removed the animal.

All passengers were asked to board the plane, and the aircraft took off at around 4.50 pm for Delhi.The airport director stated that the flight was delayed due to the presence of a rat and that once the rat was caught and removed from the plane, the flight took to the air.
