Cyient Semiconductors on Wednesday (December 18, 2025) said it will be acquiring, through a subsidiary, a majority stake in U.S. firm Kinetic Technologies for $93 million.

Cyient Semiconductors Singapore, the subsidiary, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority stake exceeding 65%. Kinetic is a power semiconductor company with deep expertise in analog and mixed-signal design and delivering high-performance ICs for efficient power delivery and signal conditioning across global markets, the Hyderabad-headquartered provider of custom ASIC/ASSP solutions said in a release.

The objective behind acquiring the stake in Kinetic, which was incorporated in 2006 and estimated to close 2025 with $41 million revenue, is to drive custom power IC leadership for Edge AI and high-performance compute markets. The combination will establish a scaled platform in the more than $40 billion power semiconductor market, accelerating Cyient Semiconductors’ growth trajectory across data centres, electrification, automotive, networking, industrial automation and the fast-emerging edge AI compute segment, it said.

The acquisition will be a game-changer for Cyient Semiconductors’ ambition to establish India’s first ASIC-led custom power semiconductor powerhouse. Kinetic’s expertise in power and protection architectures will accelerate custom chip development, enabling Cyient Semiconductors to deliver differentiated, system-level solutions that drive superior performance, scalability, and cost efficiency for customers worldwide.
