Bomb threat in Delhi turns hoax: 2 CRPF schools, 3 courts receive Jaish-e-Mohammed mail; major security alert sounded after Red Fort blast

NEW DELHI: Two CRPF schools and several courts in the national capital received bomb threats via e-mail on Tuesday, prompting immediate security alerts and precautionary measures, officials said. The schools, located in Prashant Vihar and Dwarka, received the threats around 9 am, the Delhi Fire Services said.Three court complexes in Delhi, including the Saket District Court and Patiala House Court, were vacated after receiving the bomb threat e-mails.Authorities confirmed that both the schools and courts were evacuated as a precaution, with students and staff safely moved to secure areas while bomb disposal teams conducted thorough checks.

NIA Arrests Alleged Aide Of ‘Suicide Bomber’ Umar Nabi In Delhi Terror Attack

Delhi Police officials are investigating the source of the threats.

Security has been heightened across the area, and parents have been advised to follow official updates and cooperate with authorities.Later in the day, following a search operation, the email was found to be a hoax. The incident comes just a week after a car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10 claimed the lives of 15 people, raising tensions in the city once again.Intensifying the investigation into the November 10 Delhi car blast that killed 15 people, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested another Kashmiri resident linked to the Red Fort suicide bombing and revealed that the Jaish module was planning Hamas-style drone attacks in India.Officials said the group was also attempting to manufacture small rockets for a series of coordinated blasts, exposing a far more sophisticated and expansive terror plot than previously known. On Sunday, the NIA arrested Kashmiri resident Amir Rashid Ali, in whose name the i20 car used in the attack was registered. A resident of Pampore, Ali was taken into custody from Delhi.Meanwhile, investigators are probing whether Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Umar Un Nabi attempted to operate as a ‘shoe bomber.’ This line of inquiry arose after sleuths recovered a shoe from beneath the driving seat, near the right front tyre of the i20 car.The discovery bears a chilling resemblance to the infamous December 2001 attempt by Richard Reid, who tried to detonate a TATP (triacetone triperoxide) explosive concealed in his shoes on an American Airlines flight. Forensic teams examining the recovered shoe found a metallic substance inside, which is currently under scrutiny to determine whether it could have functioned as a trigger mechanism for the explosive device.(With agency inputs)
