At a recent talk organised by the TIME magazine in New York, former Union minister Smriti Irani, one of the invitees, shared her life’s journey and how her life has come full circle. She recalled how her father, more than four decades ago, sold second-hand copies of the same magazine (TIME) on the streets in New Delhi and earned two-dollars a day to raise his family.

Enshrined, Finally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid obeisance to the ‘Jode Sahib’ (the holy footwear of the last Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh and his wife Sahib Kaur) at the Patna Sahib Gurdwara on Sunday, the day the holy relics were enshrined there. The ‘Jode Sahib’ were installed for the last time following a 1,500-km-long yatra, covering four states, to ensure that maximum devotees can do ‘darshan’ as desired by the PM, it is learnt. The holy footwear remained in the custody of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and his family for over 325 years.
