'Dhurandhar' box office collection Day 5: Ranveer Singh–Akshaye Khanna starrer sees good Tuesday growth; crosses Rs 150 crore in India, hits Rs 220 crore worldwide

Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna’s ‘Dhurandhar’ has taken off to a flying start at the box office and continues its unstoppable run. After an impressive Rs 100 crore weekend, the film maintained strong momentum over its first four days, and early estimates indicate further growth on Tuesday, signalling a highly successful first week ahead.Dhurandhar Movie ReviewThe spy action thriller has reportedly shown a 30% jump compared to Monday’s numbers, and at the same time, has seen an impressive weekday hold that many major releases fail to maintain after their opening weekend.

Day 5 box office collections

The film debuted with a collection of Rs 28 crore on Friday, followed by strong weekend growth with estimated earnings of Rs 32 crore on Saturday and Rs 43 crore on Sunday, taking the weekend total to an estimated Rs 103 crore net.Monday witnessed the expected dip, but ‘Dhurandhar’ still collected over Rs 23.25 crore net, indicating a solid hold. However, Tuesday’s business, saw a good boost in numbers by approximately 30%. Early estimates indicate a collection of Rs 26.5 crore, thus taking the film’s India net total to around Rs 152.75 crore.

Box office occupancy

On Tuesday, the film recorded an overall 39.66% Hindi occupancy. Morning shows began with a modest 19.23%, but footfalls steadily increased through the day, with afternoon and evening shows recording 33.03% and 43.24% occupancy. The biggest surge came during night shows, which saw an impressive 63.13% occupancy.

Ranveer’s top 5 highest earning films

With its rising collections, ‘Dhurandhar’ has now entered the top five highest-grossing films of Ranveer’s career. It is only inches away from surpassing the lifetime total of his 2024 release ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which earned Rs 153.55 crore. As per reports, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ holds the third position with Rs 184.3 crore, while the cop-action film ‘Simmba’ stands second with a lifetime collection of Rs 240.3 crore. The historical epic, ‘Padmaavat’ remains his highest grosser at Rs 302.15 crore.

Worldwide box office collections

While domestic net collections have crossed the Rs 150 crore mark, the all-India gross has climbed to Rs 182.75 crore. With an overseas collection of Rs 42 crore, the worldwide total now stands at approximately Rs 224.75 crore.If the current trend continues, the film is expected to close its first week at around Rs 175 crore net, placing it among the year’s top performers and delivering one of the biggest successes of Singh’s career.

‘Dhurandhar 2’ announced

The makers of ‘Dhurandhar’ confirmed that the film’s sequel will hit theatres on 19 March 2026. The big reveal was made in the post-credits scene of Part 1. This announcement came weeks after viral rumours claimed that the movie would be split into 2 parts. The film is now set to take on actor Yash’s film ‘Toxic’ at the box office over the Eid 2026 weekend.

OTT rights sold

Following the film’s theatrical success, it has been revealed that ‘Dhurandhar’ has closed in on an impressive Rs 130 crore deal for its film to release online. As per Bollywood Hungama, streaming giant Netflix has made one of the biggest OTT purchases for a Bollywood title in recent times. ‘Dhurandhar’, that is a two-part film franchise, has reprotedly been sold for Rs 65 crore each. Akshaye Khanna wins praise for villainous role

Currently, Akshaye Khanna is receiving a lot of positive response to his work in the spy-action thriller with his dance on a Balochi number going viral on social media. This marks his second role as an antagonist after ‘Chhaava’.Joining the list of people lavishing praise on the actor’s performance is actress Ameesha Patel. On Tuesday, the actress took to her Instagram, and shared a throwback picture with the actor from their film ‘Humraaz’. She wrote, “GREATNESS THEN n EVEN GREATER NOW!! That’s AKSHAY KHANNA ( AKSHU as I fondly call him ) !! Yet most unassuming n ego less !! Throwback in LONDON during HUMRAAZ promotions with at dinner along with my cousins from PARIS !!! I don’t even think AKSHU realises he has BLOWN the NATION with his performances this year !! That’s AKSHU !! Humble n unaffected (sic)”.

Upcoming competition

‘Dhurandhar’ will have one more weekend to rake it the big bucks before the film faces competition at the box office. The film will face off against the Hollywood heavyweight ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, which hits the big screens on Friday, December 19. The film will face stiff competition as the third instalment in the ‘Avatar’ franchise, is expected to have a wide theatrical release in India and will majorly be screened in IMAX formats.Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film revolves around an underworld saga following a network of criminals, informants and operatives whose lives intersect, navigating covert operations, espionage and betrayals. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in key roles.
