PINE BELT, Mississippi (WDAM) – With prom season just around the corner, the Forest General Spirit Girls are gearing up for their fifth annual Prom-a-Palooza dress collection.
We are currently accepting donations of wedding dresses and formal shoes in all sizes, with more needs in 00, 0, 2, and 18+ sizes. Participants are at 125 S. 28th Ave.
Spirit Girls coordinator Macy Knight says the idea of Prom-a-Palooza is to give local high school girls the chance to rent the wedding dress of their dreams.
“We accept donations of all kinds of wedding dresses,” Knight said. “We prefer long dresses because we know they’re the most rented ones. Girls can choose beautiful dresses for as little as $12.
“Prom is very expensive, so if I can cut costs for some families and some girls, I’m happy to do so.”
Donations will be accepted through February 10th, and the event will be held on Sunday, March 5th from 10am to 2pm at the Bliss Bridal in downtown Hattiesburg.
