As the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup final approaches, the spotlight shines not just on the two finalists — India and South Africa — but also on the legacy of the tournament that has shaped generations of women cricketers. So far, only three teams have lifted the coveted trophy — Australia (seven titles), England (four), and New Zealand (one).

India secured its spot in a third World Cup final after a thrilling five-wicket victory over defending champion Australia, while South Africa stormed into its maiden title clash with a commanding 125-run win against England.For India, the summit clash presents another shot at history, having finished runners-up twice before — in 2005 against Australia and in 2017 against England.
