India’s office market continues to expand at a record pace, with Grade-A office leasing reportedly crossing 70 million sq. ft in 2024, and the demand for managed and flexible workspaces rising 57% YoY.

Milind Dixit, MD, Koelnmesse Pvt. Ltd. said, “Companies are now prioritising ergonomics, acoustics, wellness and technology-enabled planning and this is reflected in the numbers. The corporate wellness market is already over $2.5 billion and the office furniture market is set to rise from $4.8 billion in 2025 to more than $7 billion by 2030.”

With organisations now prioritising ESG-aligned workplaces, human-centric design, AI-enabled facility automation, and health-focused interiors, India’s estimated $150-billion workspace segment is on a transformative journey said industry officials.

“As work evolves beyond fixed locations, creating intelligent, comfortable, and sustainable environments has become essential for productivity and well-being. NASSCOM values collaborations that unite innovators, solution providers, and entrepreneurs in shaping responsible, tech-driven workplaces for the future,” NASSCOM Director, Nirupam Chaudhuri, said while speaking at ORGATEC India 2025, an industry event. Oliver Frese, COO, Koelnmesse GmbH, said, “India’s workplace ecosystem is evolving at rapid pace. Flexible and managed offices now account for nearly one-fifth of all new leasing, while green-certified building completions crossed 70% in the first nine months of 2025.”

According to Mala Singh, Chairperson, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) – Mumbai Chapter, sustainability is now viewed as a shared agenda where collaboration among institutions is essential to address climate change, decarbonisation, and global well-being.

“Every workspace must embody sustainable design and responsible practices to nurture both people and the planet, because there is no planet B,” she said.

Ajay Bhatt, Group Head – Corporate Services, Godrej Industries Group, said, sustainability is at the core of all that is being done in the workspace segment.

Dixon Loong, Marketing Director, Wintech Metal Processing Sdn Bhd, said, “As work cultures evolve, we see growing adoption of acoustic pods, flexible layouts, and technology-integrated furniture that enhance comfort and performance.”
