Sanju Samson made a historic switch to the Chennai Super Kings in the franchise’s biggest-ever trade deal in IPL history. Fittingly, the Super Kings made the bid in hope and anticipation of fixing the road map and transition from their most iconic brand and cricketer, MS Dhoni.
Snapped up at Rs 18 crore deal, Samson will move closer to home from the Rajasthan Royals, while CSK have had to let go of one of their most prized possessions over the last decade, Ravindra Jadeja. The move seems, at this point, more a win for CSK than RR who have signed up Sam Curran too for Rs 2.4 crore as part of the three-player deal.

Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami is another big mover on deadline day, with the Bengal speedster moving to Lucknow Super Giants from SRH at Rs 10 crore. A reunion with former India bowling coach Bharat Arun could well be the switch that he needed to regain his mojo.
