Kantara Chapter 1 OTT Release Date: After dominating the Indian box office for nearly a month, Rishab Shetty’s folkloric blockbuster Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to make its OTT debut. The film will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video from October 31 and will be available in multiple languages, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam.
The streaming release date was announced on Amazon Prime Video India’s Instagram handle with the caption, “Get ready to witness the LEGENDary adventure of BERME. #KantaraALegendChapter1OnPrime, October 31.”
Talking about the OTT release of Kantara Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty said in a statement, “Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1 is a story deeply embedded in our soil, celebrating the sacred bond between man, nature, and faith.”
He added, “When I began working on this prequel, I wanted to return to the origins of this world—to the roots that inspired it all. Every ritual, emotion, and moment in the film draws from lived culture and real traditions. The love it received in theatres is a reflection of how deeply our folklore resonates with audiences. I’m thrilled that Prime Video will take this story beyond borders, allowing viewers everywhere to experience the spirit, mystery, and divinity of Kantara’s world in its purest form.”
Kantara 2 has been performing exceptionally well at the box office, grossing Rs 813 crore worldwide. The film recently surpassed Vicky Kaushal’s period epic Chhaava to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, earning Rs 589 crore from India alone.
Alongside Rishab Shetty, Kantara: Chapter 1 stars Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram, and Prakash Thuminad, among others. Arvind S Kashyap served as the cinematographer, while the film’s music was composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath.
