Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Election Result 2026 ward-wise Winners List: The elections to 2,869 seats across 893 wards in Maharashtra were held on Thursday and counting of votes is underway. Polling for 29 civic bodies, including Mumbai’s Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivli and Mira Bhayandar, and others, were held after high-voltage campaigns by all stakeholders like the BJP, Shiv Sena, NCP, MNS, and Congress.

The Maharashtra civic body elections, one of the most keenly watched civic contests in the country, was held after a gap of nearly nine years. The last polls were conducted in February 2017, when the undivided Shiv Sena emerged as the single largest party, with the BJP registering a sharp rise in seats in BMC, India’s richest municipal corporation . No party secured an absolute majority, and the BJP later extended support to the Shiv Sena for the mayoral post.
On Friday, the BJP-led Mahayuti took on lead as per the early trends of vote counting. As counting progresses, all eyes are on how the contest plays out across Maharashtra’s major urban centres.
