Terre Haute, Indiana (WTWO/WAWV) — About a year ago, LT Thompson joined the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce as Black Business Alliance Coordinator.
The Black Business Alliance helps serve small, black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs throughout seven Midwest Indiana county areas. Regular his BBA meetings were held in the downtown Chamber of Commerce offices and around Terre Haute, attended by business owners.
The goal of this group is to help others start their own businesses and provide business resources. One of the goals Thompson hopes to achieve this year is reaching out to high school students and helping them start their own businesses.
Thompson said he’s seen first-hand the impact the group has had on the community.
“A lot of times companies and entrepreneurs feel like they have to do it themselves. So this is a case where you don’t have to. There are resources available,” Thompson said. “So it’s a great way to say connect to these resources and ask for help. Seek advice and get the resources you need to take your business to the next level.”
