Mirai box office collection day 3 report: Karthik Gattamneni and Anil Anand’s pan-Indian action fantasy Mirai, starring Teja Sajja, has clocked in an impressive opening weekend. The film, which released across four languages — the native Telugu version, and the dubbed Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions, on Friday, September 12, is closing in on the Rs 50 crore mark after three days.

On Sunday (day 3), Mirai collected Rs 16.50 crore across all languages, which is a slight improvement on its Saturday (day 2) earnings of Rs 15 crore,a further spike from its opening day collection ofRs 13 croreon Friday. The Teja Sajja-starrer has now earned Rs 44.50 crore after three days at the domestic box office. Its fate on the first Monday will most likely decide its future course.

As per Sacnilk, the lion’s share of the domestic box office collection of Mirai belongs to the native Telugu version, which amassed Rs 11.15 crore and Rs 11.75 crore on Friday and Saturday respectively. It’s followed by the dubbed Hindi version, which collected Rs 1.65 crore and Rs 3 crore on the first two days respectively.

The Hindi dubbed version got a major push after Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions came onboard as the North India distributors of Mirai. Johar has previously backed Telugu blockbusters like SS Rajamouli’s action fantasy Baahubali and S Shankar’s 2018 sci-fi action thriller 2.0 along with duds like Puri Jagannadh’s 2022 action thriller Liger.

However, the other dubbed South Indian languages barely contributed much to Mirai’s pan-India collection. The Tamil version earned only Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh, the Kannada version collected only Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh, and the Malayalam version garnered just Rs 5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh on Friday and Saturday respectively. The language-wise distribution of the film on Sunday hasn’t been ascertained yet.

When compared to Teja Sajja’s breakout film last year, Prasanth Varma’s superhero movie Hanu Man, Mirai has performed better in its first three days at the domestic box office. Hanu Man earned Rs 29.55 in its first three days. However, since the film released on a Thursday, its extended opening weekend till that Sunday adds up to Rs 48.45 crore. Hanuman went on to amass Rs 227.5 crore after its month-long run at the India box office.
