Oppo may announce international availability of the phone at MWC 2023
In late 2021, Oppo will launch its first foldable device, the Find N. His former AP senior editor, Ryne Hagner, was thoroughly impressed with the device hands-on, even claiming that Oppo’s foldable hardware has overtaken his Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 in one fell swoop. Plunge. A year later, in December 2022, the company unveiled his two new foldable devices with different form factors. The phablet-sized Find N2 and the clamshell Find N2 Flip. Sadly, the company’s foldable phone never made it out of China. This could change with the European debut of his N2 Flip at MWC 2023 next month.
leaker snoopy tech Twitter claims that the European and global launch of Oppo’s Find N2 Flip could be announced at MWC 2023 and has shared the phone’s full spec sheet. If true, this would be the company’s first foldable product to launch outside of its home market of China. The N2 Flip features a clamshell form factor similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip lineup.
The Oppo Find N2 Flip has been available in China since late December 2022, but its full specifications were unclear. Based on the spec sheet shared, the foldable phone will feature a 3.26-inch cover display on the outside, with a refresh rate of his 60Hz. This allows the display to be used as a viewfinder while capturing or recording selfies, making it easier to use than the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s 1.9-inch cover display.
Oppo also uses a next-generation hinge on the Find N2 Flip to make the crease almost invisible. The main foldable display is 6.8 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the Chinese version, the global version of Find N2 Flip uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000+ chip. This is an overclocked version of the company’s flagship chip from 2022, featuring a 5% faster CPU and a 10% faster GPU. The smartphone will come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
In terms of cameras, the Find N2 Flip features a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP IMX709 selfie camera.
Another area where Oppo’s flip phones beat Samsung’s flip phones is battery capacity. It has a significantly larger 4300mAh battery compared to the Flip 4’s 3700mAh cell. Even better, it supports faster charging speeds of 44W from the Flip 4’s meager 25W. The foldable will launch in Europe running Android 13-based ColorOS 13. Under Oppo’s new software policy, the phone should be eligible to receive his four major ColorOS updates and five years of security patches.
If Oppo can lower the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with the Find N2 Flip, it could tap into the foldable market internationally.
