An 18-year-old identified as a suspect in a fatal shooting in downtown Pittsburgh faces new weapons charges linked to a SWAT situation dating back to December.
Eric Corrington remains in the Allegheny County Jail after being accused of shooting and killing 23-year-old Eugene Nance on Thursday, according to CBS21.
According to a recent criminal complaint, police said Collington was one of 16 people removed from an Airbnb along Brighton Road on December 19.
Police said Corrington was unarmed after being hit, but surveillance footage from inside and a post from Corrington’s Facebook account showed he was carrying a short-barreled rifle.
The rifle was later found in the Airbnb’s bedroom dresser. According to KDKA, Collington was seen carrying a gun on multiple occasions and carrying it to a room where officers found it.
As a minor, Collinton was not allowed to carry a firearm, and in 2021 it was discovered he already had one.
These charges are in addition to several charges he faces in the downtown shooting, including criminal murder, criminal conspiracy, and tampering with physical evidence.
