Pune PMC Election Result 2026 Ward-wise Winners: The counting of votes for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) election began at 10 am, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leading in both PMC and the Pimpri–Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) poll.

The main tussle is between the BJP, which has fielded candidates on all 165 seats, and the alliance of Ajit Pawar-led NCP with Sharad Pawar-led NCP(SP). The BJP had single-handedly held power in the previous five-year terms from 2017 to 2022, after which the Administrator had control of the civic body due to a delay in civic polls after it was put on hold by the Supreme Court on the reservation issue. The United NCP was then the main opposition party in PMC, as its ten-year hold from 2007 to 2017 was ended by the BJP.

The overall voting turnout for PMC was 52.42 per cent. The lowest turnout of 45.12 per cent was in Aundh-Bopodi ward, followed by 45.54 per cent in Wanowrie-Salunke Vihar. The maximum turnout of 57.81 per cent was registered in Shivane-Khadakwasla-Dhayari ward, which is a recent inclusion in the PMC area after the expansion of the city. The BJP is banking on its increased strength mainly in the central part of the city, while the NCP is confident of a good response in suburban Pune.

1,165 candidates in fray
The elections witnessed 1,165 candidates fight over 41 wards. In PCMC, 128 seats are up for grabs across 32 wards. The previous PMC polls, held in 2017, recorded a voter turnout of 55.45 percent and the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious, winning 97 seats. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) secured 39 seats, followed by Shiv Sena with 10 and Congress with nine. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) won two seats, AIMIM one, while Independents and others accounted for four seats.
