Quote of the day from Bhagavad Gita: "Mind can be your greatest friend, or your worst enemy"

Bhagavad Gita is one of the most sacred texts in Hindu religion, which is full of life’s teachings and gyan given by Lord Krishna. There are so many quotes that are famous and mentioned in Bhagavad Gita but today we will discuss the single quote that says a lot about life and how mind plays an important role in taking decision. Lord Krishna was explaining this to Arjuna when they were in the battlefield of Kurukshetra and that famous quote is – “The mind can be your greatest friend, or your worst enemy.” Now we will move forward and understand what Lord Krishna wanted to explain and what was his main motive by teaching Arjuna about the role of the mind.

Your mind holds the power

According to the chapter 6, Lord Krishna explains that your mind is a powerful weapon and has the ability to make everything possible if you work on it positively. You have to teach your mind to attract positive things in life because your mind can be both your friend and an enemy. When your mind is cool, calm and relaxed then it becomes powerful but if it is in chaos, uncontrolled and stressed then it becomes a great hurdle in your life. This happens because it is believed that your external enemies are not that dangerous than the enemy that is present inside you.

Your mind can be your worst enemy

Now we will understand that why it is said that your mind can be your worst enemy so for example if your mind is not disciplined, full of fears, nervousness, and full of anger then it exactly works as an enemy and you will do things in life according to your mind. Your mind can become an obstacle once it starts dominating you in life.

How to control your mind

Lord Krishna says, your mind becomes your enemy only in one case when you don’t train your mind accordingly. Your mind also needs training and once you train your mind, it is easy for the mind to become your friend. Your mind will follow you whatever you will say or think. So, teaching your mind is the main thing and that’s how your mind can become your friend.

How to train your mind?

Firstly, now a days it is very important to train your mind and now the question comes that how you can train your mind? So, let’s check:1. Do meditation and yoga: This can bring positive changes in your life and make your mind cool and calm. 2. Self discipline: Your actions and karma should not be bad. You have to be disciplined.3. Detachment: You should not get too much attached to anyone as this may hurt you later on. 4. Abhyasa: Practice makes a man perfect so you have to practice it daily then only you will be able to control it.
