Videos of Ranveer Singh performing and dancing at the wedding of US-based billionaire Rama Raju Mantena’s daughter Netra Mantena have taken over social media. The actor not only performed a rap song on the stage at the lavish Udaipur wedding this past weekend, but also made the high-profile guests dance with him to his popular songs.
This took the internet back to a candid moment between Ranveer and Akshay Kumar on an episode of filmmaker Karan Johar’s much-loved talk show Koffee with Karan season 6 seven years ago. On the show, Akshay revealed how Ranveer is always the last person to leave a wedding, although he’s at the event only to perform and dance with the guests.

“This man is the last person to leave weddings. The wedding is over, the bride and groom want to go for their suhagraat (honeymoon), but they can’t because Ranveer is still dancing. And by the time he’s ready to leave at 5 am, they’re too tired to do anything. Living with this man is… Hats off to Deepika (Padukone, wife),” said Akshay.
Even host Karan Johar had a Ranveer wedding story to share. He recalled how at a high-profile wedding, Ranveer was meeting all the guests like he’d known them all his life. When Karan asked Ranveer if he actually did know those guests personally, Ranveer just laughed and refused, much to Karan and Akshay’s surprise.

In a hilarious moment, Ranveer then revealed he owes it to Akshay for encouraging him to cash in on the revenue stream of dancing at weddings and other private events. “Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) has come out. This is my first year. He was headlining a wedding, me and Anushka (Sharma) were the opening act. The wedding was over, and this was wedding season, so every weekend there was a wedding. And sir (Akshay) was headlining a wedding the following weekend as well,” recalled Ranveer.
When Akshay asked him, “Beta, agle hafte aa raha hai? (Are you coming to the wedding next week?),” Ranveer responded, “Nahi sir, mera kuch yeh woh hai” (No sir, I’m busy). “He said, ‘Yeh dekh (Look), I don’t like to see money getting wasted. Shaadi hai, main naach raha hoon; birthday hai, main naach raha hoon; mundan hai, bachcha ro raha hai, main naach raha hoon‘ (whether it’s a wedding, a birthday or even a head-shaving ceremony, I’ll be dancing even if the child is crying),” added Ranveer.

The actor was seen making the guests at the Mantena wedding dance to his popular song “Aankh Marey” from Simmba (2018). He even made Donald Trump Jr and his girlfriend Bettina Anderson shake a leg on his hit song “What Jhumka?” from Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). He also performed his popular rap song “Apna Time Aayega” from Gully Boy (2019) for the wedding guests.
