Reliance Industries has stopped importing Russian crude oil into their SEZ refinery with effect from Thursday (November 20), spokesperson for the privately-owned refiner informed. It held that starting December 1, all product exported from their SEZ refinery will be obtained from non-Russian crude oil.

“This transition has been completed ahead of schedule to ensure full compliance with product-import restrictions coming into force on 21 January, 2026,” the spokesperson informed.

The refiner’s spokesperson added that all pre-committed lifting of Russian crude oil, as of October 22 this year, would be honoured considering transport arrangements were already in place. The final such cargo was loaded November 12.

Cargoes arriving on or after November 20 would be received and processed at their refinery in the domestic tariff area (DTA), the spokesperson informed. They added, “All operational activities ordinarily incident to such oil supply transactions can be completed, we believe, in a compliant way.”
