This is the first time in Lignell’s or Tamburlini’s career that they have been invited to perform at ANWA.
Recent Rebel Alumni Julia Johnson She also earned an invitation to the 2023 tournament and was invited to the Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the fourth time in a row.
Held one week before the Masters, the tournament features 72 of the world’s best female amateur golfers and takes place at the Champions Retreat Golf Club. Following the second round, the field was reduced to 30 men, with the final round at Augusta National.
Rignell was on fire for the Rebels to open the 2022-23 season. Rignell, who hails from Gothenburg, Sweden, won his first two wins at a college tournament in his Classic and Alley Cougars. Rignell finished in the top three of all four fall tournaments for the team, batting average 69.50.
A total of 11 of the 12 rounds Rignell has played this fall have been under-par, seven of them 60s. This already ties her for the fourth time in program history, with 1 most rounds of her season below par.
Tamburini is looking to qualify for the Palmer Cup for the second year in a row after finishing 10th in the international rankings after leading the international team to a 33-27 victory over Team USA in the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup. Homeland Switzerland.
The defending 2022 First Team WGCA All-American is in tears for Rebels, with top 10 finishes in the past seven tournaments dating back to the 2022 Gator Invitational in March. Tamburini also holds on to his streak of 15 consecutive Top 20 finishes that started at the 2021 NCAA Championships.
