PORTLAND, Oregon (KOIN) — A week after a box truck and cargo van were stolen from a fleet of businesses in Portland, owner Michael Wieber was found to be a crime sprawl across the area. He said he had received a report that

“It’s scary. There’s this van with your name all over it,” he said.

Shortly after KOIN 6 News interviewed Weaver on Tuesday night, he received a call and a van was spotted again at SE Powell and 34. Sure enough, the van was parked in front of the RV.
KOIN 6 News waited with Wieber for 45 minutes before the Portland Police arrived.

“It looks pretty intact,” he said. “I can’t start because I’m out of gas”
No one was inside the van, but officers found a bag of tools and a pallet jack that did not belong to Weaver’s business.
But what was missing was a tool from NW Seismic, estimated to be worth around $50,000. Weaver said he was relieved the cargo van had been recovered, but would switch gears to prevent a reoccurrence.
“I may be very optimistic, but I really think things will turn around,” said Portland.

“Now we have to figure out a way to keep it from being stolen again,” Weaver said.
However, he plans to continue his business in Portland, and things are starting to take a turn for the better.
“I may be very optimistic, but I am confident that things will turn around.”
No arrests have been made at this time when the van was recovered Tuesday night.
