Tempe business uses robots to handwrite letters and notes
Handwrytten is Tempe’s business that allows robots to learn and mimic your handwriting to write thank you notes. FOX 10’s Steve Nielsen reports.
Tempe, Arizona – inside a building Tempethe robot is busy writing card after card, but the robot’s “hand” never cramps or gets tired.
175 robots are busy handwriting cards with pens handwriting.
Handwrytten’s David Wachs said:
The company offers a service that is as customizable as possible. It can learn your handwriting, mimic it, and write the perfect thank-you note.
“I noticed that everyone was inundated with texts, calls and emails, and I thought, if people are going right, go left,” Wachs said. “So while everyone is going digital, I’m… going digital less.”
The envelope is also handwritten by a robot. If you need another robot to meet your new demands, we have one for that too.
“This is a 3D printer that makes slide rails for robots,” Wachs points out.
It’s not just for businesses. Aunt Martha needs a thank you note for her sweater for a terrible Christmas, right?
“This allows you to send a single note to your aunt or uncle, mother or father for the holidays,” Wachs said. Write it, convert it to handwriting, and write it on one of the robots with a real pen.”
But David says where they pop off the page is for businesses that add a personal touch.
“What we found [is] Handwritten envelopes have 3x higher open rates than printed envelopes, so just the perfect envelope can make a big difference for businesses and people.
The next time you open the card, you may be reading the robot text. But it’s the words that matter, not who put pen to paper, right?
Customers can also fill out their address book and automate sending birthday cards. That way, you’ll never miss a birthday again. You can also add gift cards if you wish.
