Three days after a DTC bus driver was beaten to death in a road rage accident in Aman Vihar area of Delhi, three men have been arrested by the Crime Branch of the Delhi Police in connection with the case, officers said.

According to the police, the accused men had been absconding since the altercation on December 6 and were tracked down after sustained technical surveillance.

The case was registered after a confrontation broke out between the driver of a DTC bus and the occupants of a car over lack of passage and the congestion on the road. Soon, it escalated into violence, leaving the bus driver fatally injured.

Following his death, relatives of the driver and DTC staff blocked the UER-II highway on December 7, demanding action from the police.

Police officers said a team from the Inter-State Cell of the Crime Branch was formed to trace the accused. “After sustained technical surveillance, field tracking, and coordinated efforts, the team traced the accused persons to the Karala area of North West Delhi. Acting promptly on surveillance inputs, the team apprehended the accused persons near Karala. The men were found frequently shifting hideouts to evade arrest,” said DCP Crime Branch, Aditya Gautam.

The police later identified the three accused men as Harsh Kumar (23), Rohan (26), and Raju (49), all residents of Mundka.

Further legal proceedings are underway, police said.
