HAZARD, Kentucky (WYMT) – When Rhiannon Hayes set a goal to lead a healthier lifestyle a few years ago, she started with meal prep.
“Everybody wants to lose weight, of course, but it’s not that easy. It’s easier said than done. If you want to lose weight, it’s hard work that you have to do,” says Personal. Hayes, a chef and local business owner, said.
She said if you want to lose weight or eat healthier, it has to be a lifestyle.
“I always fall back on unrealistic expectations. Low carbs, yes, we can eat low carbs, but our bodies run on carbs we have to eat carbs.” I can’t help it.So balanced meals and portions.I love portion control.”
All the meals she prepares are served in 16-ounce containers filled with sustainable foods and serve up everything from homemade Greek yogurt to cheeseburger bowls.
“The cheeseburger bowl is one of our most popular dishes. It’s a dish the whole family will love, removing the bun and having everything a cheeseburger has,” she said.
She also added that every meal we eat is a choice of whether to live a healthier lifestyle.
“You can eat 2,000 calories of vegetables and protein and lean meat, or you can eat 2,000 calories of ice cream and cake. Eating ice cream and cake will make you gain weight,” Hayes said.
She said it doesn’t mean you can’t eat ice cream or cake, it just means that moderation is key and planning ahead is always a plus.
“By putting all your food in a bowl and taking your food with you on Saturday, you’re setting yourself up for success,” she said.
