At least seven people were killed and 11 others were injured on Saturday after an intercity bus crashed into a lorry on a motorway in southern Turkey.According to the local governor’s office, the accident took place before dawn on the highway connecting the cities of Adana and Gaziantep. State news agency Anadolu reported that the bus rammed into an articulated lorry that had stopped on the road after one of its tyres bursted.Visuals from the accident site showed that the front right portion of the bus was severely crushed after it hit the rear of the lorry. The crash occurred about 90 kilometres west of Gaziantep. The Osmaniye governor’s office said that all the deceased and injured were passengers on the bus. Efforts were ongoing to identify the victims. The lorry driver survived the crash and was taken into custody, while the highway was temporarily closed for rescue and investigation work, news agency AFP reported.
