Vinfast to launch 3 new EV models in 2026

Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast plans to launch three new models in 2026, including a a 7-seater multi purpose vehicle and double its showroom footprint in India and penetrate smaller cities.

The 7-seater electric MPV targets both family and commercial use, VinFast’s CEO Tapan Kumar Ghosh said at a media even held to mark one year of the company in India.

The details of the other two cars were not shared but the CEO said those will target different segments.

The company also plans to double its showroom footprint by expanding to 75 showrooms from the current 35, and move beyond tier-1 and tier-2 cities to enter tier -3 and tier-4 markets as well.

VinFast launched two premium electric SUVs, VF 6 and VF 7, in 2025. VinFast operates an EV assembly plant in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, with an initial capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually, scalable up to 1,50,000 units.

VinFast is also researching the right timing to enter electric buses and electric two-wheelers, along with the infrastructure that supports them, according to the CEO.

Parent company, Vin Group, which is a multi-industry group also has ambitions to invest beyond mobility in India and explore opportunities in urban development, healthcare, renewable energy and education.

Last month, Vin Group signed a memorandum of understanding with Telangana for a proposed $3 billion investment to establish a multi-sector ecosystem covering smart urban development, electric mobility, healthcare, education, tourism and renewable energy across approximately 2,500 hectares (6,177 acres), the company said in a statement.
