POPLARVILLE, Mississippi (WDAM) – Pearl River Community College reached the top of the mountain last season by winning its first NJCAA Division II National Championship.
The Wildcats enjoyed the trip so much that they would love to do it again, but they know it won’t be easy.
It starts with leadership. The PRCC will return his five players to his starting lineup and enroll his 20 players who have more than one year of college experience.
“We’re ready as a team. We know what it takes,” said Petal alumnus sophomore outfielder Logan Walters. “We sophomores have had a long season last year. We have been working hard to get back to that point. We are very excited.”
“One of the things we’re talking about is that success will be one of two things: either you’ll be complacent or you’ll be more lustful. ‘This group wants to be more I think I’m starving, and another thing my dad taught me as a kid is that it’s hard to come out on top, and that’s what we preach to these people every day. We have to work harder than last year.Last year’s group worked really hard. But the goal is always the same since my first year here.Seven years ago the goal was to win the national championship. It was to win the championship, and this year will be no different.”
