NEW DELHI: Investigative agencies on Thursday said that around eight terrorists planned to carry out serial blasts in several cities across India, news agency ANI reported citing sources.According to ANI, terrorists had planned to move to four cities in groups of two each which was supposed to carry multiple IEDs along with them.

“Around eight suspects planned to carry out a serial blast at four locations. They had planned to move to four cities in groups of two each. Each group was supposed to carry multiple IEDs along with them,” the sources told.

Sources in the investigative agency also told ANI that Dr Muzammil, Dr Adeel, Umar, and Shaheen jointly raised around Rs 20 lakhs in cash, which was handed over to Umar before the Delhi blast. “They later procured more than 20 quintals of NPK Fertiliser worth Rs 3 lakhs from Gurugram, Nuh and nearby areas intended for IED preparation,” sources said.

“There was also a money dispute between Umar and Dr Mujammil. The team, headed by senior officers of the Superintendent of Police rank and above, will conduct a coordinated and comprehensive investigation.
