Delhi Today News Live Updates: A Delhi court on Wednesday sent Anmol Bishnoi, an accused in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, to 11 days of NIA custody. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) produced Anmol, the brother and close aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, amid tight security in Patiala House Court around 5 pm after the federal agency arrested him upon his deportation from the US. Bishnoi landed at Delhi’s IGI Airport earlier in the day.
Al Falah University ED probe update: Haryana-based Al Falah University generated Rs 415 crore proceeds of crime by dishonestly inducing students to join it using false claims, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) told a Delhi Court on Tuesday night. Seeking remand of Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, chairman and founder of the university, whom it had arrested on Tuesday evening on money laundering charges, the Central Probe agency said in its remand papers: “The University and its controlling trust, under the direction of arrestee/ accused, have generated proceeds of crime of at least about Rs 415.10 crore, by dishonestly inducing students and parents to part with money on the basis of false accreditation and recognition claims.”

AQI at alarming levels: The Delhi-NCR pollution is showing no sign of abating and is now alarming. While the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines specify a maximum of 15 μg/m3of PM (particulate matter) 2.5 exposure in 24 hours, the figure is nearly 26 times higher in Delhi-NCR. As per air quality trackeraqi.in, the PM 2.5 level was 384 μg/m3 at 7 AM on Wednesday. The overall AQI, rose to 543 at 7 am on Wednesday, as per aqi.in. This is equivalent to inhaling the smoke from more than 12 cigarettes a day.
