Hyderabad-based Bondada Group and Adani Group have entered into a framework agreement in the renewable energy sector.

The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic design and construction partnership and will be in place for the next five years to guide collaboration between Bondada Engineering (BEL) and Adani Green Energy (AGEL).

As the first major project under the strategic partnership, BEL was recently awarded an order for 650 MW of solar energy works from AGEL. A significant pipeline of joint development initiatives will unfold under the partnership, Bondada said after AGEL MD Vneet S. Jaain and BEL CMD Bondada Raghavendra Rao signed the agreement.

“We will bring together the best practices of both organisations to meet our commitment to country’s clean energy objectives,” Mr.Rao said. BEL recently surpassed a milestone with commissioning of 1 GW of solar energy capacity. The company has 1.8 GW under execution and an additional 2.5 GW orders in hand besides 2 GW IPP works in Andhra Pradesh.

Adani Group has announced plans to make Khavda in Kutch district of Gujarat into a 30 GW renewable energy powerhouse under the government of India’s RE Mission.
