'Continuously harassing for dowry': Woman dies by suicide; blames husband, in-laws in video

RAIPUR: A 26-year-old newly-married woman, Manjusha Goswami, allegedly died by suicide by hanging at her home in the D.D. Nagar police station area of Raipur.The deceased was a resident of Karan Nagar, New Changorabhatha.According to police, Manjusha recorded and circulated a video on her mobile phone before taking the extreme step.

In the video, she accused her husband, younger brother-in-law (devar), mother-in-law, and father-in-law of continuously harassing her for dowry, claiming that the abuse left her with no option but to end her life.The incident reportedly took place around 7pm on October 21. Based on a complaint, police have registered a case against her husband, younger brother-in-law, father-in-law, and mother-in-law.A preliminary investigation suggests that the couple had an argument shortly before the incident over switching off the television and taking away a mobile phone. Following the quarrel, the husband reportedly left the room and, upon returning a short while later, found his wife hanging.
