Mohammed Siraj, India’s leading wicket-taker in Tests this year, showed his lighter side on Day 4 of the second Test against West Indies at Arun Jaitley Stadium. While India looked to wrap up the innings, a playful moment between the pacer and West Indies’ Justin Greaves caught fans’ attention.

Mohammed Siraj Press Conference: India pacer reflects on four-fer vs West Indies

Before the 10th wicket partnership between Greaves and Jayden Seales grew steadily, Siraj jokingly warned Greaves, seemingly trying to prevent him from scoring more runs. The interaction, captured on camera, went viral on social media, with fans praising Siraj for maintaining a light-hearted attitude even in a tense situation. Despite the warning, Greaves pressed on, hitting freely and ultimately scoring a half-century. The pair helped the West Indies tail add crucial runs, allowing their side to reach a total of 390 while following on. India now require 121 runs to secure victory and seal the two-match series.

The playful moment between Siraj and Greaves

Siraj has also been in stellar form with the ball this year. Earlier in the session, he surpassed Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani to become the highest wicket-taker in Tests in 2025. He achieved the milestone after dismissing Shai Hope for 103 runs during the second session. The pacer has played eight Tests in 2025, bowling 1,575 deliveries (262.3 overs) and taking 37 wickets at an average of 26.91. He has also recorded 39 maidens, conceded 996 runs, and picked up two four-wicket and two five-wicket hauls. His best figures of the year stand at 6/70 with a strike rate of 42.56.
